To boldly kupo where no moogle has kupo'd before!
...yeah, I saw Star Trek. ^_^ My parents' friend came in to visit this afternoon so I had guest-sitting duty 'til my parents came home, and she wanted to see a movie - who am I to protest? Saves me from having to try to make conversation. ;) Anyway, it was all very shiny and enjoyable. The time-travel-alternate-reality thing didn't make me glaze over too much, which I was worried about. I appreciated the little bits of humor, although not being a lifelong Trekkie I'm sure there were references I didn't catch. I think my favorite characters are Sulu and Spock. Sulu was totally adorkable and the bit with him swordfighting had me all shinyeyed. Spock was incredibly relate-able - the writers and the actor really did him justice, I thought, with the caught-between-two-worlds, logic/emotion conflict thing. ...Jim, on the other hand, was kind of a jackass.

Also, I literally squeed out loud at the G.I. Joe and Transformers trailers. Homg. Okay, how many fanfic writers called it on what's going to happen to Sam? The 'Allspark in my brain!' trope is uber-prolific, srsly. ...I guess it was the logical conclusion. ;D *runs!*
