I'm okay with conceptual wildlife. Actual wildlife is a pain in the ass.
So on Saturday Dad chased a Big-Ass Heron out of our backyard. Yesterday a few fish from the top pond turned up missing, and the rest are hiding under the lily pads. Uh oh.

As if that wasn't enough, we have a mouse attacking the granola bars in our pantry. Traps and poisons have so far proven ineffective. I darkly suspect that this is no ordinary mouse we're dealing with here.

...At least there's no bedbugs. -_-

Rhinox's handy-dandy little fangirl detector had been on the fritz for days, and Rattrap was getting desperate. In the suburbs, one house was as good as another - was often indistinguishable from another, in point of fact - so the house he found himself in was completely random. Lucky for him, this particular random house was well-stocked. He wouldn't lack for food while he waited for the boss monkey to come rescue him.

Food or porn, it seemed.

The latest issue of Hot Wheels had been discarded on the carpet of the living room, pages flopped open to partially reveal the slender, beautiful legs of a car-type femme. Rattrap couldn't see the rest of her, but that was a temporary condition. The house was dark and quiet, perfect for collecting discarded Rat Treats. Rattrap crept forwards, forepaws stretching out for the magazine...

The cast-iron frying pan hit him square on the rump, sending him flying with a squall of thwarted lust. Rattrap transformed in midair and rolled with the impact of falling, coming up on one knee with his pistol out and aimed at...

...a short, sleep-fluffed human, clutching a frying pan to her as if to protect herself. "What the," Rattrap spluttered.

The human squinted. "Is that... Rattrap?"

Just then, Rattrap's fangirl detector gave a faint, pitiful beep. Rattrap sighed.
