Just think of the crossovers.
As fun as it is to bewail the oncoming Disney-fication of Marvel (oh come on, admit it, a Marvel world in Kingdom Hearts III would be adorable), I have to say I'm much more looking forward to a Marvel-fication of certain Disney properties. Think about it:

Years of abuse have made her tough as nails, and now she's finally had enough. With her deadly mop-fu and the birds and mice at her command, she's on a mission to uphold the honor of her late father and extract justice on those who prey on the powerless. Cinderella: she's going to clean up this town.

Following the betrayal of her father by the treacherous Jafar, Jasmine survives on the streets of Agrabah as an assassin for hire. Her acrobatic skill, faithful friend Rajah, and her family's scimitar serve her well, earning her some measure of fame in this whole new world. ...Don't even get me started on Belle. ;)

Somewhere in New York, there's a flat where the Punisher and Nick Fury have barricaded themselves in, shoulder to shoulder, having bought up all the nicotine, alcohol and ammunition they could physically fit in the place before it all mysteriously goes off sale. Occasionally, there's a knock at the door which has to be accompanied by the correct highly profane passphrase before the incoming greasy disreputable heroish-type on the other side can be allowed in.

On the other side of town, Deathwatch's base of operations has gone into lockdown. Blackout is poring over files on various top Disney execs, working out which ones to kill, which ones to buy, and which ones to just get really compromising photos of. Tarantella and Hag are locked in Tarantella's dressing room with a pair of pearl-handled pistols, agreeing the details of their suicide pact in case either of them suddenly develops the uncontrollable urge to cackle.

And somewhere in Texas, down an empty desert highway through the night and the pouring rain, rides Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider; leaving streaks of fire along the asphalt as he balances between the worlds, swearing between every third word as he calls out to the one being whose talent for infernal bargaining might be enough to save them all...

"MEPHISTOPHELES-!"

	I imagine, however, that they didn't buy Miramax because they wanted its young audience - which rumour has it they did with Marvel. :( Personally I have a horrible feeling they just wanted the film side, and the comics division will wind up suffering for it. I mean, I may be wrong, and I hope I am. It's just hard not to be a bit nervous to say the least... (Reply to this) (Parent)

"High School Musical"... with mutants! Spider-Man already has his own musical in the works. ... just watch what happens when their friend Kitty's mutant powers manifest themselves and Professor X has to show up with his associate Logan to teach Kitty about her gift. If nothing else, it's a brilliant concept to lure Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman out for some song-and-dance routines.
