What am I driving myself crazy with these days? Well, I'll tell you, flist.
My parents have gently suggested (lulz) that I consider going back to school for my bachelors'. *watches shadow of Overhead Anvil of Issues grow rapidly larger*

Cons:
1) That would be two more years guaranteed that I would still be living by the sufferance of my parents. I'd be twenty-seven at the least by the time I finally escaped.
2) I've already got a massive pile of debt from my current student loans. I really don't need another pile on top of that.
3) I barely have enough energon cubes to power a full-scale assault energy to hold down my part-time job, how in the world am I going to go to school full time on top of that?

Pros:
1) They didn't say where. If a miracle happens and/or I win the lottery, I can go to school in England and crash on 'Boots's couch.
2) As it is, I'm just spinning my wheels. What the hell else have I got to look forward to?

So, that's what's currently running on the hamster wheel in my brain.

Your parents' suggestions are all fine and good, but is going back to school what you want to do? I mean, if you had the means to, would you? For me, that's always the question it comes back to when stuff like this comes up. After all, you're the one who's gonna be towing around the debt, unless they're volunteering to take care of that for you.

Not that I'm biased in the slightest, but...

-ARU's semesters are two six-week chunks apiece. They have two semesters a year. You'd be at Uni for twenty-four weeks out of fifty-two. :D?

-Granted, I was doing English and not an art degree, but - hours per day I used to spend actually having lessons on-site? Between an hour and a half to three hours. Most of the work you do is in the library/computer room or at home. There's much more focus on learning-to-learn-by-yourself and doing stuff at your own pace.

-This is a university town. There are loads of part-time jobs come up around Christmas when the first semester is winding down, and a lot of places keep on their part-time staff after the New Year.

-One of your current loan payments would be about ten hours' work. A month. You're allowed to do 20 hours a week in term-time and up to full-time in the holidays.

-You'd be several thousand miles away from your parents.

-I have a fantastic couch. Like I'd let you sleep on the sofa, tch. Proper mooglebed for mooglerest! D:

*...snuggles up close* Whatever you choose to do, my moogle, Triad loves you. Just take care of yourself, okay? *worries over*

Every situation is different but I've got at least four more years of study in my course and I'm turning fricking twenty eight this year. (But out here we never really leave home anyway). At any rate age alone shouldn't stop you, though debt might. Of course, making a break for it and possibly dropping back into school later is also an option. ;)
