Geekery and fannishness.
Best. Community. EVER. I seriously laughed myself sick. ^_^
Also, I may have a fic in mind for fictunes this month. Nothing too complicated, so it shouldn't interfere with my schoolwork. It's a Saiunkoku Monogatari fic, so of course it's Utter Cute. ^_^
Also also, have a TMNT ficbit that's been floating around in my head.
Searching for his student had kept him out half the night; now Raphael returned no calmer than when he'd left, huffing and stomping and pacing like a bull, and deliberately disturbed Splinter's meditation by slamming the refrigerator door shut. The old rat waited until Raphael settled himself on the couch in a semblance of calm before emerging to join him in the living room.
"I looked everywhere," he started desperately without his master's prompting. "Everywhere I could think of, but she just had too much of a head start. Picked up her trail on Fifth, but I lost it again. She's gotten way too good at covering her tracks."
"You taught her well," Splinter offered quietly.
Raphael snorted, collapsed back against the couch. "I shoulda forgot about the tracking and focused on fighting. Her technique needs way more work before she can stand up to them, and if I screw up and expose her - she - She's gonna get slaughtered!" he shouted, fist thumping against the armrest. "How could she run off like that?"
Splinter closed his eyes and took a deep breath, and despite his vibrating anger Raphael found himself breathing with him. "She is doing what she feels she must do," his sensei said after a moment. "At this time, you cannot stop her course. You can only support her. This is what it means to have a student who is ready for the next level."
Raphael bowed his head to his master's wisdom with a sigh. "This is payback for all the worrying we made you do, isn't it?" he muttered.
Splinter's ears twitched. "Why, Raphael. Such a thing never entered my mind."
