Oh, GAG me.
The last steps of my journey to graduation seem to involve a mess of corporate bullshit. I have to write a 'marketing statement' and pimp myself out to a panel next week. I'm not fluent in marketing speak and I don't want to be. If I ever am, I'd appreciate you all shooting me.

*glares at requirements again*

...I may be violently ill. -_-

*thinks and cuddles tight* ...You represent integrity, honesty and customer focus, as you constantly have the desires and needs of your clients in mind and consistently do your utmost to put their needs first, as you understand how important it is as a designer to ensure that the entire range of your growing range of skills is brought to bear wth both your personal growth and your consumer market in mind.

...Does that help? :)

Hmmm... You fulfill the need for a customer-focussed, driven artist who can readily cater for the consumer who requires expertise in any given medium. You are a qualified expert in *insert names of programmes here*, have experience in working with *insert list of Cool Artist Toys here*, and in your final project have created band logos, graphic novel cover work, *insert other Cool Moogle Stuff here* for a wide range of customers wth varying requirements and expectations from their chosen designer. You are versatile, quick to learn and have experience in many different programmes and media, and therefore fulfil modern market's need for competant and specialised yet versatile visual artists.

Okay, here's what I have:

My name is Rachel Bender, and I am currently seeking employment with a publishing house or any organization with a social activism focus. As a designer, I am well aware of the power of the image in our society and wish to use this power responsibly: to inform, educate, and stimulate creativity and critical thinking rather than to deceive. I have strong skills in both print media and Web media: logos, Websites, animation, posters, newsletters, and packaging are just some of the things I can create. I fulfill the need for a customer-focused, driven artist who can readily cater to the consumer who requires expertise in any given medium. I am a qualified expert in Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, and InDesign, and I have created band logos, graphic novel cover work, web sites and image banners, packaging and animation for a wide range of customers with varying requirements and expectations from their chosen designer. I am versatile, quick to learn and have experience in many different programs and media, and therefore fulfill the modern market's need for competent and specialized yet versatile visual artists. I represent integrity, honesty and customer focus, as I constantly have the desires and needs of my clients in mind and consistently do my utmost to put their needs first. Sound good? :D?

Squee! :D One criticism, moogledear - I'd lose the 'to deceive' part in your second sentence, since it sounds a bit like you're implying that some of these lovely people might be like ShinRa, and of course that never happens in real life... >> You might want a little sign-off at the end too, maybe just a single sentence to sum up and show you've finished clearly, and say 'thank you' at the end if it's a presentation. (One bit of wisdom my dad handed down - always say thank you at the end of a presentation, with one or two exceptions...)

Other than that, hugs! :D
