Hah! I actually accomplished something today!
But before that, further to my last post, adding two new goals. First, update my website and get it on a regular update schedule (once a month should be plenty), and second, stop falling down the stairs. x_x
Anyway. Taking a page from vani_nessa's book, I'm doing the 50_sentences thing without actually signing up. Soooo, have 25 snippets of not-necessarily-canon explodey goodness for Five Myths Jamie and Adam Never Busted. From theme set Epsilon.
#01 - Motion
It was hard for Sideswipe not to take control back as they approached the first obstacle, but he kept his sticky relays off his own drive shaft as Grant hit the gas and flung him through the slalom like a pro.
#02 - Cool
Fire-retardant foam drifted into the hallway like snow; out of the haze Adam staggered, giddy and missing half his facial hair.
#03 - Young
"Sometimes I feel so old," Jamie muttered; Ratchet laughed bluntly and said, "Your species doesn't know what old is."
#04 - Last
"Well, it's not up to my usual aesthetic standards," Grapple mused, leaning back from Adam's blueprint, "but with the right materials it should last a very long time."
#05 - Wrong
"Oops," Kari offered with a weak smile as Ravage tensed to spring, "wrong door."
#06 - Gentle
He appreciated the human visitors' offer, truly, but Perceptor preferred to work with chemical explosives on his own: in his experience, nobody else really appreciated the care with which the compounds deserved to be treated.
#07 - One
Adam mugged for the camera with a length of aluminum piping, intoning, "There can be only one!"
#08 - Thousand
"How many people watch your show?" Optimus asked politely, and went silent for a moment when Jamie told him (which was his version of boggling).
#09 - King
"I'm king of the mountain!" Tori declared, only to leap off the junk heap in a panic when Grimlock mock-charged him.
#10 - Learn
"I was always the hands-on type in school," Grant explained with a grin, before sticking his entire upper body back in Wheeljack's (ticklish, apparently) abdominal cavity.
#11 - Blur
The sky-blue Autobot continued chattering away at a speed not even Adam could follow; "One of the new guys," Inferno explained dryly.
#12 - Wait
Grant's hands tightened imperceptibly on Sideswipe's wheel as Kari counted down: "On your mark... get set..."
#13 - Change
Seeing a car turn into a robot on television was way, way different from, say, getting dumped out on the asphalt on the Skybridge under Decepticon gunfire and having your ride unfold practically on top of you to start shooting back.
#14 - Command
"Oh please can we say it, please?" Tori begged; when Prime nodded assent, he beamed like a jack o'lantern and grabbed his fellow Build Team members' arms as they proudly crowed, "Autobots - transform and roll out!"
#15 - Hold
"Swoop!" Ratchet huffed as Adam swung gently from the Dinobot's hold on the back of his jacket, "how many times do I have to tell you - that's not how you hold a human!"
#16 - Need
Bluestreak thought Hoist would blow something when he was presented with the Mythbusters' list of needed materials, and was quick to assure the other mech that Red Alert had already vetted the list, after his own minor breakdown of course.
#17 - Vision
Autobots had several different types of optical scanners, but could only run one at a time successfully - the Mythbusters were sure that that was the secret of Ravage's success.
#18 - Attention
Optimus looked startled when Kari pointed out how different the Autobots acted from a regular military unit, but she had a point - nowadays, Prowl was the only one who stood at attention for him when he wasn't in trouble.
#19 - Soul
"No, Adam, we can't bust any myths on the Autobots' sparks."
#20 - Picture
The Autobots had super-shiny three-dimensional blueprinting software, but Adam found he liked the old-fashioned way better - you couldn't doodle in the margins any other way.
#21 - Fool
"You fools! They're only humans!" Megatron roared; Scrapper made sure he was out of earshot before he muttered, "He wouldn't say that if he'd ever seen the show."
#22 - Mad
And so Adam found himself trying to convince Sludge that no, Jamie wasn't really mad at him, and anyway he was really a big teddy bear - which wasn't the most surreal part of the whole adventure, all told.
#23 - Child
"Like kids in a candy store," Jamie muttered into his mustache as Grant, Kari and Tori gleefully reverse-engineered one of Wheeljack's more obscure inventions.
#24 - Now
"Give me the weapon, now!" Starscream demanded; Adam shrugged, said "Okay," pulled back on the lever, and let him have it.
#25 - Shadow
Ravage remained perfectly motionless, just another shadow until the scanner passed harmlessly over him.
#26-50 coming tomorrow, unless I fall down the stairs again.
Need a Mythbusters icon.
