Comment with a sentence from one of my fanfictions. Without looking, I have to try and guess which fic of mine the sentence is from. If I fail, the challenger wins a drabble request. Post this in your own journal and let me challenge you!

Also, a bit of Fluffiroth, because he's been making cow eyes at me. In which Seph has been told that he has chocobo pox. )

EDIT: I caught part of a documentary on the evolution of sex in humans, and at the end credits it showed (of course, how else do you end these things) a sperm fertilizing an egg. "Thus begins a nine-month-long odyssey that ends in a miracle..." said the narrator. ...And then we cut to How It's Made, which basically takes you inside factories. AT FIRST I WAS LIEK o_O - AND THEN I LOL'D. Oh, Discovery Channel. I swear you do these ironic juxtapositions on purpose.

"On Broken Wings" - Prologue

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I warned you all it was coming. You had plenty of time to defriend me.

"On Broken Wings" is a working title, though it'll probably stand as is considering how much I hate coming up with titles. XD It's kind of an aftermath-fixit if that makes any sense. Basic underlying assumption: aside from the whole "trying to kill everything" bit, Sephiroth's actually a decent guy. He just needs a chance to prove it.

Title: On Broken Wings
Author: ...um, that would be me. *hides*
Rating: PG, gen for now, though I make no promises as to later chapters

Someone's imported the testify meme to IJ. My thread is here, because, as you all know, I am an attention whore. ^_^ So go participate, yes?

Also, Sephiroth sings about a subject that's very close to his heart.

...but I just gotta know. Who here's played Dirge of Cerberus? See, I've got me a sort of idea surrounding Hojo for the Fluffing Of Sephiroth project, but I heard he already Came Back To Life in DoC and I don't want to step on anyone's toes. So... how'd he get un-stabby-deathified? And what happened to him in the end?

It has occurred to me that I am ridiculous.

Speaking of, I really need to tempt some people over to [info]ffvii_100 so that the Turks aren't winning by fifty million points every single damn weekend. I hadn't had any real bunnies spawn on me for this prompt, but it looks like I'm going to have to do one each for Avalanche and Soldier just so they're not shut out. *ties plushies on strings and dangles them* Heeeeere fangirl fangirl fangirl... >)

Just taking a break from making mom's birthday present.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
...Of course I'm crocheting her something. When you Make Stuff of any sort, your mother expects you to spend some of that labor on her. I expect that if I was a math major, Mom would want me to build her an algorithm.

Anyway, skibbles:

Zack, Aeris, and umbrellas on the beach. One of Aeris's weapons in the game is a parasol, and apparently one of Zack's weapons in Crisis Core is a beach umbrella. CLEARLY IT WAS FATE.

In which Sephiroth's chocobo is Fearsome. Set in [info]ciceqi's Anthroverse. This skibble is part of a larger scene that dropped into my head unbidden the other day and involves Seph really, really wishing the stablemaster hadn't come to fetch him before Draugr pecked Hojo to death.

Zack, Aeris and Girl!Cloud, presumably post-coitus. This is fanart for this fanfic, also by [info]ciceqi. (Yes, I am a raving Coyofan, why do you ask?)

And finally, something from one of my fanworks. In which Sephiroth, experiencing his first viral sickness, has his first real talk with Cloud. ...Or something. (I really need to come up with a title for that arc one of these days. I can't keep calling it Fluffiroth forever.)

I can has canon?

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
FFVII fans, question: post-AC, how much does the General Populace know about That Thing With Meteor and Sephiroth's involvment therein? Because I mean Seph didn't exactly tend to leave witnesses, and Shinra placed the blame on Avalanche... but Our Heroes sure as hell wouldn't keep it a secret, and someone's probably asked why Shinra isn't mad at the tree-hugging hippy ecoterrorists anymore. Would it be reasonable to think that most people still think of Sephiroth as a war hero who disappeared under mysterious circumstances? Or have underground sources ferreted out the truth, or did Reeve make a press release...? I'm debating whether Rufus would find Seph a useful symbol, among other things.

December 22nd, 2007

Um... merry Christmas? ^_^;;;;

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I think I banged this out in the space of three days. Sephiroth wouldn't let me go until I finished it. You can put your sword away now, General Sephiroth sir...

This will make a hell of a lot more sense (relatively speaking) if you read [info]ciceqi's Tentacleverse first. Like, all of it. Trust me on this. (There's not that much, and you will not regret the time spent.)

Title: Cling
Author: [info]raisedbymoogles, to my eternal shame, I'm sure. ^_^;;;

Shoes!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
For varied reasons, it's hard for me to find shoes. Mostly it's that I'm picky about what I spend my mom's money on - most shoes come across to me as boring, ugly, or like they wouldn't be out of place in [info]dragovianknight's collection of torture implements. (I have an antagonistic relationship with heels, which is another reason why I have a hard time with shoes. Girls, answer this for me - why, in Primus' name, do you feel the need to winch up your heels to unnatural angles?) Then, assuming I find something I like, I still have to deal with my monster feet. My feet are flat and wide, and hover somewhere in the 8.5-9 area, so finding a shoe that will accomodate all that is an adventure all in itself. Invariably the shoe I like best will pinch my poor toes, or have a bump to support the arch I don't have, or slip off my heel. Shopping for shoes, especially once I hit my growth spurt (in my case it was more of a halfhearted lurch, except where my feet were concerned), has always been an exercise in frustration.

So imagine my glee when I come home from Shopping today with not one but two pairs of shoes I absolutely adore. ^_^

Brown shoe with pink and purple and white... stuff all over it. Fits like a glove and looks adorable with tights. (I may be starting a love affair with tights. They're just so warm and cozy..!)

The black shoe. Basic, but not boring; pretty, but not froofy. These are the things that make a moogle's feet happy. ^_^

...And did I mention they were both on sale? :D (Gods, I'm such a girl sometimes.)

In other news, tomorrow is the last day of class for the quarter, and it will be spent Presenting things. While I don't enjoy presenting, at least I don't have to actually do anything either. HUZZAH. I'll probably spend break (when I'm not at Ohayocon, or allowing my Relations to fuss over me in Illinois) writing Sephfic. He's been poking around my brain and asking all sorts of questions. I think he's making up for not having much of a childhood... *worried look*

Had a fun weekend, but because fun weekends usually lead to floppy moogles, I'll leave the report 'til tomorrow and hope you'll be content with a linkdump.

So [info]beckyh2112 showed me this, which is basically an index for a Japanese fanart site. Because I couldn't find any comprehensive image list links, I took it upon myself to look through every single image in search of the ones y'all might be interested. That's right, my dear flist: I looked at scary Japanese porn so you didn't have to. Well, unless you want. ;P

Divided into links for Transformers, FF7, Kingdom Hearts, and a few random ones I didn't recognize but thought were cool. The rest were all characters I didn't recognize. WARNING: a good handful of these are not worksafe. The bad ones are marked with a **; click at your own risk.

Bouncy, squeaky, happy moogle. ^_^ ^_^ ^______^

EDIT: No, self, a Phoenix Wright/FF7 crossover would not be a good idea. On the long list of things Sephiroth needs, 'legal counsel' does not appear. And a Phoenix/Seph/Edgeworth sandwich, while hot, would probably just be messy.

Springkink Recs, for the people who eschew LJ. We still have good porn on LJ! We're just, uh, quieter about it. ^_^;;;

Advance and Follow, in which Skywarp and Thundercracker get up to Mischief. Of the sexy kind. ;)
Oh Merciful Descent, entirely-too-cruel Sephiroth/Cloud movie fic.
Untitled, Starscream, Tracks, violence and related themes and also angst. *wibbles and hugs Tracks*
In The Old Country, fluffy gen involving the Protectobots on Cybertron. *hearts*
Training With Kyo, Kyo/Tohru/martial arts/utter cuteness.
Jump The Gun, in which Starscream finally gets the better of Megatron. This one appeals to the gunkink sector of my brain. (Actually, anything involving Megatron appeals to that sector; this fic brought it roses and whispered sweet nothings in its ear.)
this, and only this; it is enough, Sora/Riku, massive amounts of cute that spiral right into "guh" territory.
Comm Signal, Judy Witwicky/Frenzy. YA RLY.
Piecing, Beatrix/Garnet pre-game fluff. There's an unfortunate dearth of good FF9 fic out there, which makes me rather a sad moogle.
Not Quite By the Book, Tseng/Reno: swift, hard and hot, just the way I like my Turks. ^_^

And since no rec post would be complete without pimping myself:
Holy's Touch: the prompt was Aeris with tentacles, and I of course came up with fixit!crack. Which I have been implored to continue. Oh, help.
Lab Assistant, Agatha/Gil from Girl Genius. Verreh short canon scene from Gil's POV.
Marquis de Air Commander, Starscream/everybody. Well, technically six people, but that's more than enough getting laid for one fic. XD
Spark's Oath, in which Magnus runs headlong into Rodimus's issues. Angst, hugs and Metroplex being protective.
Junkyard Wars, Hook, Ratchet, Perceptor and Scavenger in various combinations. In which, as [info]apathocles puts it, Hook and Ratchet battle for Perceptor's love. (Unfortunately they forgot to ask Percy about it first.)

Are people really not done with their projects yet?

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
'Cause I was done with both my M&A and WebDev final projects somewhere around a week and a half ago. I must be SMRT. (Thinking like this is how I get in academic trouble, but I honestly can't figure out anything else I can do with what I have.)

On an unrelated note, I got my fortune told on Saturday (with little Sculpey medallions in pretty colors, in case you're interested; each color combination is associated with an animal and a set of values/circumstances), and Master Jennings says it's time to Move Forward. Actually, what he said was 'it's time to physically relocate', but unless something earthshaking happens I'm kinda stuck in this area for the next year. But he did say stuff about goals and potential and 'what's holding you back,' so I thought I'd start blogging about that.

The problem is, I've never been much good at thinking about the future. Actually, I think I kind of avoid it as much as possible. XD But! I have compiled a short list of Careers I Think I Could Live With, so at least I have a starting point. To wit:

- graphic novel artist
- novelist/illustrator
- editor of a progressive, feminist magazine
- professional crocheter
- game artist/character designer
- international culture blogger
- professional Autobot snuggler/cultural liason

(Yes, I had to add that last one. This is me.)

Whatever I end up as, I've decided my dream home is a cottage out in the countryside somewhere (I just need to find a countryside with a reliable Internet connection), with a slightly wild garden and a comfortably-sized pack of shelter animals on which to lavish affection. And hey, if there are people who want to move in with me, so much the better. ;)

Two more unrelated things:
1) At work yesterday a Vaguely Authoritative Guy walks by and gives me a speculative look. He visibly runs a Google on me and pops up with "Moogle Girl!"

"Yep, that's me," I say. ^_^

"You speak Spanish?"

"Um." Cue deer-in-headlights. "I took three years in high school and one year in college, but it's been a really long time." Five years, to be exact. I'm not sure my language skills have survived five years of neglect.

"Huh. Are you comfortable talking with customers?"

Oh, gods. "Depends on the customer," I say, and try not to wince.

Luckily he left me alone after that, but drat! I was so looking forward to not having to deal with customers. With a language barrier, no less. -_-

2) My Zen popped up with "Vanilla" by Gackt and now I've got Zack lip-syncing and gyrating in my head. It doesn't help that I can understand it when Gackt goes "faster, harder" in the chorus. OHGODS. (Look it up on Youtube. Try to find the live version if you can. If it's not up there, I'll upload it when I get home tonight. You know, if you're interested in sharing the mental images.)

September 25th, 2007

So. First day of work.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Apparently 'finisher' means getting things ready for UPS, so the tools of my trade turn out to be cardboard, gluey tape, and metric buttloads of bubblewrap. My coworkers are entertainingly cynical, and if I don't get some muscle tone over the course of my employment I'll be rather disappointed. All in all, not a bad way to make two hundred bucks a week.

On an unrelated note, things I will be giggling about all week:
Spike Witwicky Requires Expensive Therapy, by [info]saltedpin. The Decepticons are turned human for no particular reason; Spike is nominated against his will to help them navigate in human society. Hilarity, as it is wont to do, ensues.
Defenders Of Marriage, by political satirist with a guitar Roy Zimmerman. He amuses me. ^_^

Also, my last two [info]kinkfest prompts:
What They Wore For Her, Aeris/Cloud/Zack/Sephiroth. Three short unrelated ficbits which may have spawned their own AU (oh, help).
No More Waiting, Skyfire/Starscream, preseries flirting. For a given value of flirting, anyway.

September 24th, 2007

Right then. Weekend report.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Friday night - despite having had only six hours of sleep the night before, I got together with [info]ravynfyre, [info]poptartodoom, and [info]lunatron to go see Transformers in Imax. ...or in this case, "slightly larger screen." And in case you were wondering, the extra footage was disappointing. Just more squishies. -_- Still! The "Autobots Descend" scene was just as squeak-inducing the second time around, and I got to hang out with my friends and make a fannish fool of myself! And crash and burn at the arcade. Racing games, like every other game that doesn't involve extensive menus, are not my forte.

And instead of going right to bed like I should have afterwards, I stayed up and kicked genocidal ass in FFVII. Didn't even need KotR. ^_^

Saturday - [info]ravynfyre and me at the Renfest! Ravyn was smashing in her shieldmaiden dress and she got to do parade with me. ^_^ Also also also, I was actually funny! Granted, most of that was because of a prop one of the food-booth dudes gave me (my "stool sample." Draw your own conclusions) but I also told a girl that the fake ears, toes and fingers in the Viking booth "make good soup." I thought she was going to throw up all over me. XD Of course, the highlight of my day was when the queen asked me to bring her a pretzel. I must have run around half the fair looking for a stupid pretzel dude, before I finally cheated and got one at the source. Of course, not ten minutes later I saw both pretzel dudes. Gah!

Sunday morning, of course, I woke up feeling like death warmed over, tried to snap out of it by eating breakfast, gave up, went back to bed and slept 'til noon. A light lunch and a three-hour nap later I finally watched Advent Children, which nearly made me 'splode from shiny. And now I'm more or less back to normal, energy-wise.

...I don't have any excuse for not working on my Fluffiroth fic now, do I? CURSES. (Except, you know, [info]springkink.)

Today's my first day at my new job! EEEEE!

EDIT: My final project in Advanced Photoshop, a.k.a. Briar and Laramie being fluffy at each other. It's as done as it's gonna get. *hides*

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I broke the News to my soon-to-be-ex-boss today. She said she was "heartbroken" and gave me a hug. It was... rather awkward, actually. I'll probably end up guilting myself into buying her a card.

...Still. I'm gonna be OUT of that boring place! Whee! (I'd better get cracking on my fics. I won't be able to write them at work anymore... XD)

...speaking of which, I just put in my claims for twelve [info]springkink prompts. As follows: Click! )

I think it's a nice mix of my old standbys and some new material, and I've already got ideas for a good number of them. Even so, I may be insane for claiming even more prompts in between school, work, and Renfest. (If push comes to shove, there's always drabbles. That's what I'm telling myself.)

And as if I didn't have enough fannish things to think about, I went ahead and assembled TF and FF7 tarot decks. I know someone's done this for TFs already, but. )

I may draw them, I may not. Just something else to play with. ^_^
