And I even got my parents a card for their anniversary. :D ...of course, I ran into them on the way to the bookstore, so it's not as if I could play it off like I'd had it for weeks. Dammit. ;P Anyway, I wrote in the card that I'd take them out to breakfast one day, so there you have it. Instant present, no guilt. ;)

Yesterday _kyri invited me out to dinner (in a very loose sense) with a bunch of the Rennie kids. I got a bit losted getting to Mandie's house, but that's what happens when I drive in unfamiliar places in the dark. 9_9 Wound up at a hospital, which isn't a bad place to be when you're losted. Anyway, I got founded again, we gathered up our crew, _kyri clobbered a deer (which got up and ran off, so it can't have been too fazed by the experience). We wound up at Waffle House. Yes, I drove an hour to go to Waffle House. But dude, chocolate chip waffles! XD We must've spent a couple hours there, talking and making fun of things and trying to make Mandie's water break from laughing so hard. (She was a week past due and was going to get induced today, though I haven't heard how that went.) I got even more losted coming back, which is only to be expected considering I was driving around in an unfamiliar place at stupid o'clock in the morning. Didn't get in 'til after two.

...It was fun. ^_^

Today was my day for shadowing at the shelter place. I got to walk a puppy named Piper and a puppy named Bear, and a couple of very sweet, energetic older dogs, and Coquito the Homicidal Fluffball. And I saw a vet in the process of spaying a cat. Andandand a Jack Russel Terrier puppy in the isolation room tried to give me a concussion. ^_^ So a lot of work, but it seems like fun. Puppies! :D

Tomorrow is the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, btw. I have to think about what I'm going to write for that, but you'll definitely see a post on that subject from me tomorrow. (Fair warning.)

The New Year dawned with lots of fluffy snow. I choose to take this as an omen.

To do tomorrow: send in my entry for Interweave's crochet pattern call, spend at least one of the gift cards I got from my grandparents, and get ready for Ohayocon.

Also, thiscoming Chinese New Year is going to kick off the Year of the Rat, so I think I have to write something involving Rattrap and Splinter in time for that. And possibly Yuki Souma. And probably inserting myself since I'm a Rat, just for the hell of it. (Squeak!)

Also just for the hell of it, my New Years' Resolutions are as follows: graduate, become gainfully employed, finish my novel (or at least get most of it done), and lose my virginity. (Not that I'm much of a virgin. The amount of porn I've produced would send any self-respecting unicorn running for the hills.)

**Funny story about that: when I went to turn in my camera this morning, I got el mondo lecture from the guy at the desk. "You're not allowed to have cameras out over days when we're closed! You should've had it in by ten on Tuesday!" "Um, that's not what my professors - " "Not allowed!" So I need to have a conversation with my AV and photography teachers as well as the lady who rented me the damn camera. Because someone is steering me wrong.

...Not angsting today, so I can wish y'all a proper Happy Thanksgiving. Me? I'm thankful for porn. Speaking of which, remind me that I need to draw a companion piece to this drabble (NSFW). Not that I think I'll forget that image anytime soon. (Tseng, you bastard.)

In other news, I've had so many ideas for crochet plushies lately. I may have to just break down and get myself an Etsy account soon, since it doesn't look as though I'm going to be working. ;P I can't see making a living off of that or anything, but at best it'll bring in a little extra money (which I will probably turn around and spend on more yarn). At worst it'll be an entertaining diversion. Currently trying to work out the logistics of crocheting Phoenix Wright's hair. Oh, help.
